I'm thowing the accelerator pedal position code (pretty sure its 1281) all day long. It seems to happen when I press the pedal past 50%.
I have two problems. One, the diagnosis sheet for codes says that the error is related to the second sensor. I don't know if that means the second sensor is catching the problem or if it is the problem.
Part two, I checked my repair manual (vol 3) and to the best of my comprehension I think it is showing me how to replace the accelerator. If so is the second sensor in the accelerator? Couldn't the problem be a bad sensor (unlikely culprit)?
Any help with any of these questions would come in handy. It's not changing oil or replacing lights so I'm a little green here!
The 3 accelerator sensors are located in the pedal. Are you sure the diagnostic is pointing you to the APP? It can also point you to the TAC module.

I'm not sure I understand how to tell the difference. The code I'm getting in the DIC corresponds to the description of a malfunction in the APP at sensor 2. I'll check the code again and make sure that it starts with P, not C.
Ok, so it's C1281 in TCS. It's showing that it is a historical code. I'll look into it and start a an aptly named thread if necessary. (probably will be)
