Default headers with stock catback??

Does anybody have this combo? I'm talking about the normal C5 exhaust, not the Z06 ti's. I'm interested in any impressions, reviews, etc. I want to stay with it for stock looks and sound. It doesn't hurt that I already have it one the car. How does it sound? I know I will giving up some power, but that's not that big of a deal.

Thanks ahead of time!

I had LG Pro LTs w/cats and the stock cat-back on my 02 coupe for about 4 months, before I went with GHL Bullets. I liked the combo. In fact, if I could get a reasonable amount for the GHLs, I might go back to it. There was a slight increase in rumble at idle, and a nice growl at WOT. When LG tuned my car, they said I would probably only pick up 5HP with a good catback, so you are not giving up much in the power dept.

I have the texas speed long tube headers with stock cat back. Sounds good at wot and a little louder at idle. It could be louder for my taste.

I have the Dynatech system with the stock exhaust. It has a noticable growl at about 2000 when accelerating, but quiet at cruise. Also quite a bit louder in the higher RPM's when you get on it. If you just goose it while sitting, it has a very nice bark in the exhaust. Personally, I like the way it sounds, but you know the Corvette guy, I will have to try a TI system at some point.

This is the setup that I want to install on my car, Dynatech headers and Z06 Ti exhaust. I heard a Z06 with cam, LG LT headers and the stock Ti exhaust and it sounded very nice.

I am running Melrose LT's with the stock mufflers. Slightly louder than stock, nice and stealthy. My 111LSA cam is the biggest giveaway that something is not stock anymore.

Considering that you pick up about 20-25 RWHP with longtubes, you're saying that a 5 HP or 20-25% decrease in power output is OK? Thats a lot of money pissed away.

It was 30 HP with a tune, and the stock cat-back. Actually, what LG (and I) said was your $700-1000 for a good cat-back would only gain 5 HP. It's up to you to decide whether you want to spend $140-200 per HP. If you don't want to spend the cash or like the slightly milder sound of stock, you're only giving up 5 HP.
