Intermittent transmission problems.
2004 m6. 30k miles.
It started getting hard to put the car in 4th. Shifter wouldn't move out of neutral position into 4.
Then sometimes into 3...
I had the trans fluid changed, and the problem remained for about 100 miles.
After that, it started feeling smooth again. Maybe half as smooth as it feels when the car is stopped.
But today, it was very... I'm not sure of the word to use... notchy? "ratchety?" moving the shifter took some effort everywhere it went, on my 4 mile drive to lunch. On my 4 mile drive back, it was very smooth.
It's very intermittent. Is this something to worry about?
