I am getting a slight (but annoying) vibration starting at 70 mph. It feels like it is coming from the front end. On certain roads like on a new interstate highway with a grooved surface I don't feel it. Strange? I recently had an slp underdrive harmonic balancer installed, a rf speed sensor bearing assemby replaced I checked to see if all the lug nuts are tight and they are. After having this work done is when I started getting the vibration. Last week I had the front tire balance checked and they were good. Where else could this be coming from?
Sounds like something is loose in the front end. I would think the balancer would make the vibration without the car moving at what ever rpm.I beleive the the steering rack has to be lowered to install the crank dampener. If you have a means to lift the car and inspect all the fasteners involved on the recent work I would be at it, if not I would take it back to whom ever did the work.

Yep, the steering rack has to be removed to install the pulley. I would check there first.
I had the balancer put on at a chevy dealership. I already had the parts. They told me that they could not warranty the parts, which I can understand but they should be responsible for fixing the rack if there is a problem with that don't you think?
My dealership told me that my front tires were worn. I then went to a local tire shop and they took one look and said the same thing. Apparently I have been driving with the front end out of align. My question now is since I had a 4 wheel alignment will the tires eventually even out somewhat?
In my experience, 8 times out of 10, problems like yours are caused by bad tires. As long as you replaced the bad ones and the rest were good, I don't see why the car wouldn't ride smooth after the alignment.
The other 1 time out of the 10 you have those vibration issues, it's usually your stupid u-joints that are going bad. The last 1, is for whatever other thing may go wrong. Let us know how it's doing. At least I'd like to know since it's always good info.
My front tires were wearing on the inside and that is normal if the car is aligned to the factory specs. I took the car back to the alignment shop, they new what the problem was and then they changed the camber setting on the front and rear tires. The vibration is gone. Thanks, Bunk.
