Default New member needs HELP!!

Just joined the Forum today and hope someone can help me. I'm the original owner of a 98 Torch Red Coupe with 21,000 miles. Only changes to stock are a Blackwing and I got rid of the run-flats. I do have the intermittent issue with the fuel gauge but Techron seems to handle.

The problem is that I run out of gas after using approximately half the tank. It's happened twice recently. I fill up (9.4 gallons) The computer says I have 420 mile range, I drive about 250 miles and it runs out of gas. The gauge shows just under half full. I go fill up and we're back to putting in 9.4 gallons. No codes, runs perfect.

Is it only pulling gas from one of the tanks hence the 9.4 fill up? What would cause this? Is it a self-fix or a trip to the dealership? I've done a search but no luck.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Welcome to the forum, it sounds like you diagnosed your problem. Unfortunately, I’m not mechanical enough to know what the fix would be. Hang on and I think you will get some answers soon. Also try to find a good Corvette mechanic in your area with a good reputation so you don’t have to take your car to the Stealership.

Also fill out your profile. It will help others here on the forum help you with future problems. The more we know about your car, the more we can help. Besides, you might find out that some pretty smart forum members live near you. I have met more then two dozen within 10 miles of me. We have had get togethers and it has been great.

Again, welcome

Clayton from Las Vegas

Could be anything from a piched line to a faulty filter or connection joint. Are you able to monitor fuel pressure when it does this?

Sounds like passenger side pump is bad.Not to hard to change yourself although you may get a face full of fuel in the process.
You might try a search for fuel pump or fuel tank repair on here as I remember reading a post on it.

Checked the lines and everything looks ok. I'll change the filter since it's been there for 8 years and see what happens. Thanks.

Is the pump accessible via the plate on the back or do you have to remove the tank? Thanks
