60k maintenance ?
I am in the process of shopping for a C5 and had a question for you all.
On my current car (a non-vette =P), I have a 60K maintenance that is pretty expensive ($2500 or so, water pump, timing belt and a few other things). If the Vette has a similar maintenance schedule and price, I need to take that into account when shopping for a Vette that has 50k miles on it.
So...
Is there a similar maintenance on the C5 ?
At what mileage ?
and How much does it generally run ? (will vary some, a ballpark or range would be fine)
Thanks, in advance, for any advice !
I don't think they list a whole lot of maintenance at 60K other than oil changes.
I would at least consider transmission service if you are looking at automatic and coolant change out depending on year. Other fluids depending on your personnal preference.

Nothing special at any maintenance interval. I just went through a '03 Z06 this weekend that had been recently purchased by a new customer. My assumption is that no fluids have been changed out (sadly is pretty good assumption for other than engine oil), so we went through it front to rear.
Fluids:
7 qts. Mobil 1 10w-30
4 qts. M1 Dexron transmission fluid
2 qts. M1 75w-90 diff fluid plus a bottle of GM limited slip additive
1 qt. Valvoline Synpower DOT 3/4 brake fluid
Prestone Dexcool mixed with distilled water
It took about 4 hours labor to do all this. On this car, everything other than the engine oil looked like the original fill fluid. The brake fluid was especially bad considering this car is only three years old.
Vettes are typically low-mileage cars (not always, I've got 144K+ on mine), but the first C5s are 10 years old now!
I change out my fluids on the following intervals:Oil: When Oil Life Monitor gets to 0% OR 1 year, whichever is first
Tranny, Diff: 35,000 miles or 2 years
Brake Fluid, Coolant: Every 2 years
Air Filter: Assuming stock paper element, every 25,000 miles
HTH, and have a good one,
Mike
