I am looking at getting a replacement balancer and have found a couple, I dont really want to go back with a GM one due to this one wore out in less that 50k, Dont really want to go with a underdrive either. But I am looking at a PowerForce from Professional Products, http://www.professional-products.com
I was reading and this balancer is externally balanced and the instructions say the following:
Our externally balanced
dampers have bolt-in counterweights. (Except the #80001 and #90001
6-3/4" SB Chevy 400 model.) The counterweight can be removed
allowing the damper to be used on an internally balanced engine.
Counterweights are also sold separately and may be added to use an
internal style damper on an externally balanced engine.
What does this exactly mean? Do I leave the weights on or remove them? Or just go back with a GM OEM?
