Default starter & headers

I have heard that you should insulate your starter if you install headers. Is this true and if so any suggestions?
Thanks..........

I haven't heard of this being a problem. I've had my LT's on for around 12k miles now, with no issues. Have you tried searching to see if that comes up with something?

Two years with Dynatech header system. No starter issues.

Its not like the old small-block Chevy's, where the header would literally sit on top of the starter. I had a '68 Camaro that used to require a new starter eveyr six months because of this.

Not so with my C5.

Two years and about 8K miles - no problem so far without insulation. I had never heard that before.

I didn't have any starter issues with my Dynatech long tube headers.
