Both of the darn sunvisors on my 2001 C5 fell apart at the same time. The lighted mirrors are apparently held on to the visor by little pieces of plastic that clearly aren't built to last.
They don't look like they can be fixed where they will last for any time so I'm going to order new ones.
How do you take the old ones out without damaging something???
...someone posted the same problem a few weeks ago...you might find the discussion in search (try keyword visor mirror?). There were several suggestions offered to secure the mirror(s) again. How about some construction adhesive in a sparing amount?

I just removed both of mine and took them to be recovered. I installed the Homelink in the drivers side. Both mirrors are okay.
If you want to remove the sunvisors you will need a stout, small-tipped common (flat blade) screwdriver. Look at the area where the sunvisor mounts near the A-pillar. You will notice a "tab" of sorts. Place the screw driver in the tab and push up. You may want to wrap the sunvisor arm where it makes the 90 degree turn with some electrical tape or something to help prevent scratches. Swing the sunvisor outwards (away from the interior) and this will unlock the collar holding the sunvisor. The electrical connection is a bit of a pain to fish out of the hole, but it will come out without being aggressive.
