And how many gallons is your tank? Think about it and you will have your answer.

Get 3 of the 12 gal size and use one and a half at each fill up or you could buy 2 and use one and a half at the first fill up and than the other half when you fill up at 2/3 of a tank or. you could...................

I just buy the 12 gal one and I make sure I only put in at most up to that amount of fuel in my tank. I try to fill to usually 11 gal when I do this so as to concentrate the Techron a bit.

Fill it with either 12 gallons, or 20 gallons, and use the appropriate size of Techron.

You're good to go.

The one for 20 gallons says treats up to 20 gallons.

Ive used a single bottle for 20 on all 3 cars we have (17-21) gallons for a while now.
Havent had any problems at all.

Ever notice that there is 2 types of Techron treatment sold. One is called Fuel System Treatment and the other is called Fuel Injector Cleaner. The FST is cheaper. I wonder if there is any difference?

Exactly what are we mixing here...ingredients for chocolate chip cookies or an angel food cake??!! Put 2 12's or 1 18 in a full tank of gas and be done with it. I doubt your DIC will light up with an "ARGGGH" message.

Can anyone define "****" for me please?

I usually buy the 12 gallon one and fill up with Chevron gas. I figure that the techron in the gas will make up for the other 6 or so gallons.

Well, technically, the fuel capacity is 19.1 gallons; twin 9 gallon tanks with room for an additional 1.1 gallons in the gas lines and fuel filler neck. I buy the 20 gallon size Techron, carefully remove 4.5% of the contents and then make sure that I get every remaining drop in the tank. Then I fill up with gas to the top of the fuel filler neck. Oops, I forgot that the Techron displaces some of the space that would have been taken up by the gas, so the gas capacity is now less than 19.1 gallons. Awe, what the heck, I'll go with the full 20 gallon size bottle of Techron. I hope that won't ruin my engine.

The most logical post that I have read. Now if we could just get the square root of the hypotenus we would be fine. That would give us the answer down to the closest micro mililiter

It's really a no brainer, as it's just simple math. But it won't hurt anything if you use the Techron bottle for 20 gallons with an 18 gallon tank.

If you put the additive in with more than 1/2 a tank of gas, does all the additive stay in the left tank?

How much you put in may be less important than how much gas is in the tanks when you add it.

WOW!!!
It's amazing how we can go from a simple task, like pouring an additive into a gas tank, to having to use quantum physics to get it right.

I'd be willing to bet some of you guys actually weigh the water and coffee grinds that go into making your morning coffee.

So, like, what's your point? 65 grams of Sumatran coffee and 500 cc of purified water, heat to 95 degrees Celsius, pour into the French press, steep for four minutes, and press. 400 cc cup, 7 packs of Splenda, 30cc of half and half (no metric equivalent) and enjoy.

Or, pull to the drive through and scream "gimme the large, 4 creams 4 splendas" and be done with it.
