and then reading further i read that the engine still had water in the cylinders. how could it have still driven home??? and the dlr has 9 others in for the same thing??? i wonder how many c5 engines this particular dlr replaces for hydro loc a yr???? somethin sounds real odd with the events as they went.
driving with bent rods..... ok. driving with bent rods, then dlr still finds enough wter to hydro loc????? and 9 others................lots o repair work to do = lots o $$$$$$$$$$ for that service dept huh!!!!

At the dealer I work at (mini cooper) we see about 6 or 7 engines hydrolocked a year for the same thing. Insurance should cover it, they usually do.

Ok folks I live in Louisiana swamp land and have seen as much as 12" of rain in 4 hours. I don't drive through water period unless it is only surface water. I know I have a water scoop on the front in the form of a stock air box and It will up pull water. If it is raining I drive my 4x4 Excursion with the 7.3 diesel. If the water gets into the intake on my diesel that I have to climb up into we really have problems.

Katrina not withstanding of course. Jim
