Default engine stalled twice

Started 2000 vette twice and stalled both times,a message appeared on display saying to remove key and wait 10 seconds,what gives

try your spare key if u have one...my 99 did the same thing so i went and had a key made...solved my problem..the little chip gets worn out thats on the key.

Column Lock - You may be screwed. Search for other threads on the dreaded CLB. Do you have an MN6? usually happens mostly to them. And correct it before it locks on you.

Sounds like a column lock issue to me. Check to make sure your steering wheel is unlocking when you turn the key. If your wheels are at an angle, take some presure off the wheel and turn the key. You should here the column lock mechanism pin unlock. Of course, this is if you do not already have a CLB installed.

The wait 10-seconds code is related to VATS. The column lock is a separate issue.
