just got back from LA and car ran great on the way up (from Phoenix). A nice spirited run- averaged 25.8 mpg at about avg speed of 80+; however, when I got ready to leave, it would not turnover after sitting for a couple of days. had to get a jump which even took awhile. The battery is new, less than a week old, which replaced the prior one that was just over a year old. also changed out the starter about a month ago. I assume it is now alternator?? When its running the volts are good (13.6-13.9). I do not know how to test the alt. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
starter died about a month ago and battery had a bad cell discovered last week. perhaps all was or is being caused by bad alt??
If the volts are up close to 14v while running, the alt is probably ok. Hard to diagnose electrical problems without being there. Charge and test the battery one more time. Then keep a close eye on that voltmeter and make sure the alt is doing its job. Does it go dead overnight or while driving?

Sounds normal..you have any hi-power radio equipment? How's it charging with the A/C running; are you in a lot of stop and go traffic? Aftermarket alarm system?
only after market equip is a sirius system; i don't drive it as a daily driver but when i do it is in work travel stop and go. no difference when using a/c which is pretty much all the time here in metro phoenix,az

Well so far that's normal. 13v+ on a fully charged battery is ok. How long did you drive it before it dropped to that point? At what point does it then go dead? What happens on the 2nd day or 3rd day?
