I want to modify my air box. I've been leaning towards the ZO6 air box cover, but the manual air box mod looks good too. Do I need to be concerned with water entering through the front hood area into a heavy modified/opened up air box? I know the cold air kits have water issues.
I currently have the halltech intake on my car with a hood seal and no problems. Hoodseal solves water issues. I still have my Z06 airbox with K+N filter if you're interested. Filter is very clean. I don't know how much do people get for Z06 airboxes with a K+N? Make me an offer!

I had a 98 and cut the air box as my first mod. Found out that water from the front hood opening entere into the filter and froze the filter (winter) . I had to add a hood seal to keep the water out of the filter. The Z06 air box will work well. A box cut open in the front works better but increases your chances of injesting water in a heavy rain storm and will allow water from the hood to wet the filtr.
