Hey Forum I have a 98 coupe that I bought this past xmas. The previous owner did specify 29-30 lbs all around. The previous owner also told me that after he purchased a run flat,he did not instal that sensor ,but it is in the rear compartment. Now I have a rear tire press warning that stays on the dic. After checking the pressure is there any way to reset that code. I am greatful for any help.

You will have to install the sensor to fix the problem. Why didn't he leave the sensor in place. Is it bad and needing replacement?
I also wonder why previous owner did not install the sensor. The easiest way to test is to install the sensor and try it. My guess is the sensor will be bad and you need to buy a new one. The sensors are supposed to last 8 to 10 years.

You will not be able to eliminate the message. Each time you start the vehicle, the message will reappear and you will need to hit reset to remove it.
You can however test the sensor you found, by going through the relearn process here... https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=77&TopicID=1
When you get to the wheel without a sensor, take the sensor you found and give it a good shake for a few seconds and put the magnet next to it. If the horn beeps, the sensor is communicating with the vehicle. Only then would I try installing it in the wheel.
This can be done by taking the tire & wheel assembly to a shop you trust and having them break the bead loose on the outside. Push the sidewall in carefully and after removing the rubber valve stem, insert the TPS. Be sure you have a new "O-ring" handy before you get to this point (#9 - available at any good auto parts store).
As someone else said, if these sensors are original, I would expect them to start giving you problems soon...
For some reason on my '98 when I install the winter wheels with no sensors, no code shows up when I start....only time it comes on is when I travel on hwy for about 5 miles, then it comes on...wierd?
