I just installed a 50 wet shot nitrous on my 93 Camaro Z 6seed. Car runs perfect with no ignition or fuel problems(no nitrous) but with nitrous my first run is good and then every run after that it will hesitate like its an ignition problem. Two mechanics have told me im dumping too much fuel because after i use nitrous turn of car and turn it on doesnt turn on right away feels like its flooded but not always. Second reason why they say that is the reason why it doesnt hesitate on my first nitrous run is that bottle pressure is high and then second run bottle pressure drops and if im already dumping too much fuel with less bottle pressure it will hesitate. The hesitation is exactly like when my opti failed that type of hesitation it hits a brick wall at 5000rpms and doesnt go anywhere with heavy hesitation before. Again i have NO issues what so ever with ignition and i rev the car to 6500 rpms without a hick up. The guy i bought the nitrous from says change your plugs to colder plugs TR6 which ive already ordered not yet installed. Im kinda confused dont know what it could be. The nitrous line has been check and its clean and jets are right. This system is a WOT, can anyone help please.
I am by no means a nitrous expert having installed and used it on a '90C4 I had. I used an MSD Digital 6 Plus box to knock timing out when the nitrous solenoids triggered. This kept the car from knocking/detonating. I also used a cooler plug. It sounds like you may be getting some knock which the factory knock sensor is picking up and really taking out a great deal of timing. As to the guys claim that after one pass the bottle pressure drops..BS..unless the bottle is really low to start with. Now you could be dumping a ton of fuel into the system if it is a wet system and you have the wrong fuel jet installed or are having a solenoid failure on the nitrous side. Sorry I can't be of much help but these are some things to consider. My vote is for the knock issue but only 50hp makes that suspect also. I was running 100hp but was very conservative......PS, you don't have a chip or power programer modifying the timing curve do you? That will really aggravate the knock problem quick! Good luck
its about 910-920 psi and it hesitates around 4500 and then doesnt go anywere at all at 5000rpms feels like a ignition problem but when the car is reved to 6500rpms without nitrous it runs perfect. The guy i bought it from say its my stock plugs, i spoke to DarksideMotoring and FastIntentions and both mechanics say its too rich. Id have to say those two places are very experienced in Nitrous but it does feel like the plugs arent working after my first run on nitrous because it feels so much like an ignition problem like plugs. The other two mechanic keep sayin if you dont have a hesitation problem without nitrous and then you do with nitrous its gotta be that your running too rich i thought running rich didnt hesitate like as if it was like an ignition problem it feels different.
also on my first nitrous run it runs fine its the second run that it starts hesitating and as before the guy said the second run your car is running less nitrous bottle pressure so its making it more richer on top of you already being rich to begin with but like i said i dont know it feels like an ignition problem meaning the plugs might freeze up after my 1st nitrous run .
