Default Dynamax LT headers: pros / cons? overheating?

I am looking at buying a C5 with these headers on them.

They are stainless. I did a search--only 1 thread and no comment on them just about a code from hi-flow cats.

Are these headers good, do they run too close to the body work or anything like that? Do they dump more heat into the car then the stock mainfolds (I like to track my cars once in a blue moon)?

Any known issues?

Thanks

Quality of the headers is among the best out there.
Fit is excellent, does not decrease under chassis clearance
If they are jet-Hot coated, they will not increase under hood temps significantly. If headers are not coated, you could wrap them.

My LTs are coated and I have yet to notice any increase in underhood temps.

Stainless headers actually keep more heat in the pipe than stock cast iron manifolds and mild steel pipe. That is a feature of stainless headers - hot gas flows faster than gas that loses heat through the exhaust system. As exhaust gas cools going down the pipe it slows down.

A stainless header pipe will cool off faster than a cast iron manifold as well.

I have Dynamaxx LT headers - great fit and no issues. I also have their hi-flow cats - no problems.

Ditto... lots of posts by owners of other brands about leaks, but I've never read any post about a leaking Dynomax. Great quality stuff, and the only thing I'd do differently if I could do it over is have it thermal coated before installing.

Turns out what is on the car that I was asking about is

Dynatech Supermaxx LT headers for C5.

...but I'll assume you guys guessed right! Hopefully there aren't too many similar named C5 headers.

Thanks guys!!

I wouldn't be too concerned about the problem with the O2, the rears especially suffer in an aftermarket long tube system and usually have to get shut off. The only issue with the fronts I have seen on the Dynatechs is when someone doesn't secure the wires good enough and they contact the header and burn the insulation. Also, crossing the fronts has been another issue but that is an installation error and doesn't reflect on the headers themselves.

Yup - mine had to be deleted by my tuner - cost like $50, easy as hookin up a laptop and changing a few things...

According to Dynatech's customer support the O2 code/problem is hit or miss. Some vettes never have a problem, some need to delete the rear O2s. Either way, I have the headers, and they're outstanding! Fit, Finish, Quality, Sound, Look, everything! And with these headers only, i picked up about 30rwhp w/o a tune... (I'm not joking - i'll post the Dyno if people start gettin uppity... lol)

You have nothing to worry about with Dynatech headers. I have checked mine carefully several times since the install, and have found no loose bolts, leaks or other issues. Very high quality product. I would do it all over again. Good luck!
