Default HELP Another Problem

When i'm on the highway, my coolant/engine temps are fine until i come to a stop. With the A/C off, at a stop, the engine temp only rises about 15 degrees to about 200 degrees F. On the highway it's about 185 degrees F. With the A/C on, at a stop, the temp shoots up to 240 degrees F, and on the highway it's 187 degree F with the A/C on. I have a 160* T-stats thats been in the car since Feb. '06 and the car is tuned for the T-stat.....What could be causing my car to overheat at a stop with the A/C on???

You said your car was tuned for the 160 degee thermostat. Do you know if the fan temps were reprogrammed?

Also, as the outside temp starts to cool down, the A/C compressor (thus the fans) don't need to run as often. I had the same problem, until I reprogrammed my fan temps.

I think you really need to check into the settings for your FANS. It sounds like a simple reprogram would take care of your problem.

That is the correct area ..... the A/C condensor sits in front of the radiator.
