Does anyone know what exactly micro relay #37 is? It's located in the fuse box in the passenger footwell. The diagram on the inside of the fuse box lid says #37 monitored LD?? Anyone? Thanks.
This relay is the power feed for some of the lights, like the vanity mirrors, map lights, glove compartment light, and the underhood light. The BCM controls the relay : During normal operation the relay supplies power to these lights. If the car is shut-off, the BCM keeps this relay energized to maintain power to these lights, but after about 15 minutes, the BCM checks to see if these lights are still on, and if they are, the BCM de-energizes the relay to disconnect these "Inadvertant Loads" so that the battery is not run-down if you left these lights on (or the hood open)
not to insult you, but you just responded to a 15 year old thread.
Not to insult you but. This is a thread that is still useful much later. I came here looking for help. The worst threads I come across are dead ends with no final reply for more ideas or was it fixed.
So no need to be a hall monitor for old threads. 😂
Found the problem. The relay is going bad and there's a loose wire at the connector light tan position l in the connector for the multi switch underneath the steering column
Tried to diagnose a parasitic loss. It looks like the relay 37 in the foot well is hot. Does not look like it is switching off the load. I have a OBD2 dongle, and it looked like it is powered even if the car is off. Should I change the relay? Right now I just unplugged the OBD2 dongle, temperature reduced…
definitely a good thread
