Default Reducing Wheel Spin

Other than the obvious (tires)...what can one do to reduce wheel spin under WOT?

Don't forget springs. You'll notice that the Z51 suspension (which I have on my car) has the worst 0-60 and 1/4 mile times of the factory suspensions, because the reduction in weight transfer capabilities increases wheel spin and wheel hop.

The best suspension for straight line acceleration under WOT is the softest...Of course, this doesn't maximize capabilties in the corners, but it will help prevent wheelspin.

A softer spring, softer sidewall tires, reduced rear tire pressures (27 psi is about as low as you want to go with the stock run flats, though), reduced revs at launch (2750 RPMs,) and a progressive throttle application help deliver a good straight-line acceleration.

Just for comparison, in a stock-tire/Z51/MN6 6-spd 2002 convertible, I can get consistent 4.7 0-60 runs. My lowest is around 4.66. A little wheelspin is actually good.

Assuming you're getting the wheelspin at WOT on the track, I'd suggest Drag Radials.

Sway Bar Removal Does Work On C5's
Qa1's Are Expensive ( To Me ) So I Have Been Measuring And Checking Out Lakewood Drag Shocks For My Car. 40101 Lakewood Drag Shocks With A 3" Extention Will Work Perfect.
$42.00 X 2 Shocks = $ 84.00 + $ 10.00 For 2 Extentions.
Under $ 100.00 For Front Drag Shocks !!

Default Shocks

Some folks are recommending softer shocks for better tire hook...any specific shocks you can recommend?

The Lakewood Setup In The Front Of My Car Has Been Working Out Well. As Far As The Rear Shocks......... I Have Soft Shocks And I Think They Are No Good. I Believe A Stiffer Shock Would Be Alot Better. Probably, A Standard New Oem Shock Would Work Well.

Stuff a bananna in each tailpipe. That will help reduce wheel spin

Not sure. I am sure if you ask the service people in the Pep Boys performance isle, they will help out

This is incorrect. Soft shocks will help, as long as they aren't too soft that they bottom out when the suspension is loaded, then you'll get wheel hop. I'd recommend the QA1 single adjustables all around, doubles up front if you drag race and have the extra $$$. They improved my launch and consistency at the strip and on the street.
