ok, I tried to trace where the phone cord went, and it goes to a phone connector that has 2 sockets (to snap in a phone cord) in the passenger footwell fuse box area. The windshield cord is plugged into one of those.
then the double socket has a black and red wire that goes to a connector that has an orange and yellow wire.
Is this for a radar detector? or a phone antenna like for onstar or something?
This is my first 6 months with a C5, so I'm learning

Also, your local Radio Shack has the special crimping tool and plenty of the plastic ends should you need them. Not very expensive at all. I've used mine several times already to repair a plastic end after the little tang breaks off from repeated plugging/unplugging. Works great. HTH,
