Default Power Steering Pulley Removal

Guys, I'm replacing the pump and need to remove/replace the pulley. Is there a tool for this? How does one press the pulley on the new pump? I did a search but didn't find anything. Help if you can because my DD is all apart
Thanks!
John

From the manual:

Remove the Electronic Brake Control Module/Break Pressure Modulator Valve (EBTCM/BPMV) and bracket, if equipped. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
Install the J 25034-C on the pump pulley and remove the pulley.
Installation Procedure
Tools Required
J 25033-C Pump Pulley Installer

Using J 25033-C install the pump pulley onto the pump.

Important
Pulley must be installed onto pump shaft so that the pulley hub is flush with the pump shaft.

Install the hub plug into pulley.
Install the Electronic Brake Control Module/Break Pressure Modulator Valve (EBTCM/BPMV) and bracket, if equipped. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

The above post shows the tool needed....I used a peice of threaded rod and screwed it into the pump shaft.I then put the pulley over the rod put a nut and washer on and used my impact to press the pulley on.

It is much the same procedure as installing a crank pulley.

BTW bashing it on with a hammer doesn't work...

Ok here's the deal, there is a pulley kit available which will remove and install your pulley. I ended up renting one from Napa Auto Parts Store for $10.00. The bolt size is 3/8". If you try to use a bolt or threaded rod, you bettter find a hardened bolt because mine twisted right off and almost ruined my whole setup. Fortunately I was able to get a bite on the stubby piece sticking out and unscrew it.

The install tool is the way to go because it consists of a stud that goes into the pump shaft and another piece that screws onto that and has fine pitch threads so you can press the pulley on easier. Of course the tool is hardened tool-grade material which can take the forces needed to press the pulley on.
