The button on the end of the windscreen wiper stork that activates the washers was sticking after I had some work done on the car (2001 C5). ***** of a thing would keep the wipers going.
I took out the button and found that the pressure/spring of the button is applied by two small springs. Somehow one of these was all bent up, which caused the button to stick. I have no idea how they did this. Must have bumped it I guess.
Anyone had the same problem and had to replace a spring? Where do I get one of the springs? They are tiny.
I had the same problem. Only one day, my button (and the two springs) just flew off! I could then stick the button back in, but it would start the wipers and the washers. It was like it was raining if I had my roof off.
Anyway, I never figured out how to fix the button - the dealer replaced the entire stalk on my extended warranty.

Sorry to say mine was out of warranty...to replace the "stock" was a mear $400.00....but since I was only out of the warranty period for a short period...they were nice and only charged me $200.00....take the hint...you cant just buy those little springs....find out what it costs to buy the stock and do it yourself...it isnt rocket science
