Default Head casting numbers?

Im trying to find a good set of donor heads for when do valvetrain components. Is there any particular casting number that is any better than others? Are all valvetrain components interchangable on these? Have lifters, rocker arms, pushrods, guidplates, springs, etc.. for a 97 head, I think they are all the same but just wanna make sure before i buy some. I would like to go ahead and get 99 and up head for the diffrent vavlve covers. Is there any other diffrence besides bolt patterns?

All LS1 valve train components are interchangeable---one thing to remember. LS6 heads had longer valves. In the grand scheme of things they aren't different enough to make a difference on a stock setup, just something to remember.
Lifters and pushrods haven't changed.
I believe 2000+ got better rockers (less liable to blow out the bearings)
Obviously springs are different between LS1 and LS6 heads.

Truck heads typically use integrated spring seat and seals as opposed to separate in most car heads. Keep that in mind if you are ordering spare parts.
