Gear swap question
Not so familiar with these Getrags and would like to know if the guts are interchangeable like a live axle.Are there different series rear ends like the 2,3 and 4 series rear ends in live axles?
I have a 2.73 diff that I would like to put 3.42 r&p in but want to check before I start gathering parts.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It can be done, but only if you have the Getrag tool set (around $1000). A few shops can and have actually done the surgery, but most of us just buy a new transaxle and change the whole shootin' match. BTW, I went from 2.73's to 3.42's and love it!!
