Default A4 Lsa Cam Specs

Just checking my memory (always short term), the best LSA cam size for an A4 powered car would be a 114, correct?

Example: 22X/22X .58X/.58X 114 LSA

I know that you can run cams with 112s in A4s, but for a basic upgrade, the 114 LSA is correct and makes tuning easier.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE only answer the 114 LSA question, I really do not need any inputs on 112 or 113 LSA.

I really appreciate it,

Micah

Stock is from 116 to 119. Just as a FYI.
No reason you cannot use whatever LSA you care to use - 108-120. Tighter LSA may require a stall.

Thanks Stephen, I have a VIG 2800 TC in the car now with a new tranny built by Rodney.

What I am looking for is something a little more friendly for daily use. The cam I have is a great cam, Chris ran it in his car and had great power from it, but it is a 113 LSA and I think that a 114 or higher would probably suit me much better. I know, I know, maybe a good tune, and people are running much tighter LSAs in an A4 with no issues, I just wanted to get the LSA question cleared up.

Thanks,

Micah

I have the VHP 056 cam, which is on a 115. The same cam is available on a 113. I went with the larger separation angle to keep the idle more stock so my wife wouldn't be nervous about driving the car. VHP calls my cam the "automatic" version of the cam because of the higher LSA. A 114 will produce more of a choppy idle rather than "lopey" if you know what I mean.

Thanks, see that is another thing, I hate the fact that my wife will not drive the car. She appreciates the idea of it being mine, but I would like the idea of her being able to drive, but the problem is my 113 LSA is surging and needing a tune. I am looking into making it easier on the tuner by swapping for a higher LSA and smaller duration.

Micah, I have a custom comp grind of 218/224 567/572 on a 114. I had it tuned by Williams performance in Mooresville. I have a Vig 2800 also, and this combo works great.
