Well Ive got some dexcool leaking from it looks to be on the bottem of the pump, my next question do I just need to replace the gaskets or a new pump, car has 70K on it. Its not leaking that much
Thanks
Rich
Clean it off, and see if you can tell if the leak is coming from the weep hole in the pump or where it mounts to the block.
Most likely, the gaskets did not just start leaking, and the pump needs to be replaced.
How soon you replace it depends on how long you can tolerate knowing it is leaking.
Water pumps have mechanical seals in them and can sometimes have a little residue around the weep hole, but should not be leaking enough to drip.
Is it leaking enough that you have noticed a drop in the coolant level in the overflow tank?
