How much HP gain does the Z06 exhaust system provide over a stock C5 exhaust system? Does it sound any different, will it be more agressive at the low end or high end?
Not sure about the HP gains over the non-Z06 stock system, but there is a weight difference where the titanium systems is approximately 40% lighter. There are other systems available that are lighter still and probably have better flow characteristics, such as the B&B PRT.
The '02 Z06 exhaust is way louder than the base '02 exhaust at idle and wot. The '01 Z06 exhaust is maybe a little louder than the base '01 exhaust. Both probably flow a little more than the base exhaust of the same year.
John Leginfelter just installed our titanium cat back system and told me that istallation was a breeze. He will have some performance numbers for me next week. The system is 41% lighter than stainless and flows the same as our regular catback system for C-5's. You should note that our system flows more than any of our competitors on a 1400 CFM flow bench. 569CFM vs 490 and 494CFM for unnamed competitors. You should also note that a car engine is just a big air pump, and if you don't open up the front end (high performance air filter) you will get little benefit from any performance exhaust system. Also, I don't think anyone else has a titanium system out yet besides us.
