I'm getting ready to install my SuperMaXX system and I noticed that Dynatech sends along a set of bolts and ARP only offers studs for that application. Is one better than the other? What are you guys using, bolts or studs and are you using any thread locker on either? Can you even get these things installed over a set of studs? Do they stay tight with what ever you're using?
I used the bolts in the kit, along with the metal gasket supplied in the kit. I used anti-seize on the bolt threads and the spark plug threads. I went back in to tighten them twice but both times there was nothing to tighten -- it was still torqued.
Studs were handy when needing to access O2 sensor wirings and move the headers slightly. You can easily hang the headers by yourself when under the car on the studs should a friend not be available to assist.
