Anyone doing their own alignments?

I've heard of a few people doing alignments @ home, anyone here?

I've done my own alignments on my "other" car, but not on the Vette. Haven't had the need yet.

After wearing out some Goodyear tires over the first two or three years, I did my own alignment and put on a set of Firestone's. It's been five years now, never back to an alignment shop, and I still have the Firestones with no adverse tread wear, although I don't drive it as much as I used to. I made my toe equipment and made some wheel attachnents to use a digital level. Generally speaking you need to know as much or more about alignment than the pros, and have some equipment, or you'll end up with a bigger mess than you started with.
