Could be a bad BCM or BCM connectors. It can prevent start, and it controls the underhood and interior lights. Could also be the power feed to the BCM, 2 fuses, located in the passenger footwell fuse-box. Also check the BCM ground connections, it has two. See the Bill Curlee thread for the description of the ground locations. I think one is at the base of the passenger door pillar, where the hinge is. The other goes to a "Splice Pack" #208, which I recall is grounded at G104, next to the battery, on hte frame-rail.
could be a lot of different things from what ersatz928 said, bad starter, bad clutch switch or if auto, bad park/neutral saftey switch. Hopefully it acts up for them.
Well a Chevy Dealer had it two full days and of course it started every time for them..........they say they cannot find a reason for the Fail To Start.
The good news is they are not charging me for the effort
So I guess I will spend my weekend checking the grounds, any moisture near the BCM, and cleaning the ignition switch contacts.
