Has anyone had the problem of not having their car start when the weather gets in the lower 50's? I park her in the garage and she has her own heater and she will start fine. If I don't turn the heater on, she will not start! I think she is spoiled....but no really has anyone had this problem? I appreciate any response! Thanks in advance.
I have checked the battery...just installed a new one and made sure the connections were tight. It starts fine when it is high 50's and of course warmer....but when it gets really cold, it does not want to start. If I put the heater on in the garage, it will start. Someone told me it might possibly be the solenoid. Thought I would come here before taking it to the shop.
Could be a lot of things. Bad starter, solenoid, ignition switch. Try a hair dryer on the key and ignition switch for a minute just to rule one out. Also the clutch switch or neutral safety, whichever you have. If clutch, try start position with key while pushing on clutch pedal hard. Or auto, try starting in neutral instead of park. Probably just the starter though.
