It can be a couple of things. It could be the brake wear "chirper", which tells you it's time to change the pads before they wear into the rotors. It could also be caused by dry contact between the calipers and the pads themselves. Pull the pads out and put a small amount of high-temp grease (not too expensive, you can get it at any car parts store) on the metal-to-metal contact areas.

If you determine it is the pads and replace them yourself, cruise the forum a little (search) first. There has been a couple threads on it and the danger of spreading the caliper without the bleed valve open. The backward fluid pressure may damage the proportioning valve.
