I've been a lurker for a few months and my first newbie post. My top has black stains on it and I do not know what use to clean it with. I do not want to harm the top with harsh chemicals. Any advice? Great posts here and lots of funny ribbing going on!!
ICNU,
Just did a search on the forum and came up with 303 cleaner w/303 fabric guard. My guess would be Autozone or Wal-Mart. Mid-America Designs (www.madvet.com) also carries a kit.
The NCM has the Hartz cleaner in their store. Go to the Corvette Museum link on the Forum homepage. The reports about the stains were what helped me make the final decision as far as color choice when I changed from my 2000 Coupe to the 2001 Roadster. One other option that has been discussed on the Forum is putting a towel between the top folds to prevent rub marks / stains. Good Luck ! :chevy
You can probably use just plain soap and water, or use simple green.. Or, if you have a local boat/marine store around, they will probably sell the Haartz 303 products that I use on my tan top...

good advice here....when you use the cleaner make sure to apply the protectant as well.....you'll need to cover the car cause that stuff is hard to get off any parts that are not "canvas".....I always vacuum/tape the top prior to cleaning as well
