Default modded A4's-how do you launch best?

with drag radials- do you guys just slam it from a dead idle? do you break launch at a high RPM? if so what RPM? what's best?

I raise rpm to about 1500 and then slam it if I have a good track and ET streets.
On street with drag radials I raise rpm to 1500 and ease on it and after some ft I push the pedal to the floor.

I think slamming the pedal with your heads/cam car will give you too much wheelspin.
Try raising the rpms and then eas on it. When you´re hooked up (can be very soon on dragradials) push it!!!!

Try it and you´ll find out whats the best for you!!

I stand on the brake and bring the revs up to 1200,check for wheelspin, raise revs to 1300, check agin, raise again if you are not spinning. You probably can't hold much more than 1500 with a tight TC.

It really depends on the tires and the stall. You want to bring the rpm's up to a point not to far above idle, so that when you hit the gas the stall flashes.... This will give you your best 60', depending on whether you can hook or not..

When its warm outside... Nittos at 20psi and i bring it to about 1100 rpm and let it go.. I dead hook on the street..

Last week at the track.. it was to slick so I got my best 60' easing into the gas. 1.89 ... 11.82 @ 118

For all the Newark boys.. I'm in your neighborhood today.. - 165 Halsey..

Thanks....

We were shooting a street bike video and I had to show em what the vette was about.. They needed a car that could keep up with a bike, and they chose a vette..

I'll post the pics of me racing a CBR F4 soon.... Giving him the kick and still winning..

what mods do you have?

i know you didn't bring that C5 to halsey street. parking is bad unless you park in a lot. they also break into cars there. that area sucks! go to ferry st further east past penn station. take raymond blvd or market and you will love the scenery. brazilian & portuguese babes all over the place! they will make you drool on warm days. good restaurants (go to sagres or iberia at ferry & prospect) best go-go bar is don costa's on fleming ave. enjoy!

I put left foot on brake & bring her to approx 1800 RPM & go from there , stock 2001 convertable 315 gears , & pro flo intake , beast time so far 13.13 .........not bad for an old fart.

Do a John Force burnout to get em hot and sticky. Then powerbrake it to 1200 rpm and slam it when you get the last yellow! The hard part is removing all the caked up rubber from inside the wheelwells and on the mufflers!

Here I am brother Rob! My best e/ts have come with me just going to WOT from idle (car idles around 900) and this is when I pulled my best 60 foot times of 1.72 & 1.75 (both times got me 11.93 e/t). Dont forget though with my superyank 3500 the str is less than your yank 3000 (which allows me to hook great going from idle to WOT) but I recommend trying this to see what you pull. If you don't crack 11s this week I know your beast will get there with e/t streets. Goodluck and keep us posted! :D

God Bless America,

nitro, i'm hitting etown this afternoon and giving it a shot before the cartek corvette challenge tomorrow. i haven't went slamming it off the line because i thought i would spin out but i will give it a try. my 315's BF are bald so with a good burnout hopefully i'll hook. 11's are knocking at my door! so close

thanks, rob

ps-what str do you have on your 3500? i thought is was a 2.0 or a 2.2 i have a 1.86

Hey Rob,

The nice thing about the sy 3500 is the str is really low (I believe around 1.650) and this allows me to hook up well and then b/c the converter is so efficients it makes it up thru the midrange and then end of the quarter mile. I would go from idle to Wot at the third yellow and just back off is she don't hook so you don't run into problems. Good luck to you and if she don't hook go to f-body 16s rear rims and e/t streets and you will see 11s for sure.

Godluck and God BLess America :flag
