Wheels rubbing in rear ?

Wheels rubbing in rear ?
I had a rim that was whorped for some reason when I had new tires installed 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I had a new set of wheels put on the tires and installed. I had Z06 rims on my car and replaced them with the same style Z06 rims. I believe the rims I just bought are after market rims. I would think that they were the same size as the rims I had on.
When I was driving home last night I definately thought the rims were rubbing on something. It was a Whomping sound. The car never sounded like that before. The tech at the shop did mention something about the fitting of the wheels when the car was up. Something like to close, rubbing?? He then mentioned that when the car was lowered, the wheels were barely clearing but they were clear.
No..... I clearly noticed they sound like they are rubbing. I have an after market exhaust on my car and I think its to load, but now since these wheels have been installed, the noise is even loader.
The shop is closed on sundays, just my luck.....
I think it has something to do with the offset.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the problem?
First thing in the morning I'm going back up there . I'd like to be able to describe better what they should do and hope a member here can tell me what it is or may be.

Aftermarkets sometimes don't have the OEM offsets which is one of the reasons they're cheaper.........sounds like you may wind up needing spacers?
