Default Installing Rollmaster Crank Sprocket

Okay, I am reassembling my heads / cam install in my 2001 vette and have changed out the OEM single crank and cam sprockets to a Rollmaster dual chain kit. The instructions say to keep the cam and crank sprockets no more than 0.10 inches offset to one another to minimimize chain wear. My eyes are not that calibrated and I am wondering -

1. How far onto the crank shaft do you press the new sprocket - all the way up against the crankshaft shoulder?
2. Best way to determine if you are within the 0.10 inches allowable.

I have degreed the cam and am on the sweet spot but I have this one last thing to do befrore installing the oil pump and so forth.

Appreciate your time and input.

Thanks.

You must press the crank sprocket all the way on the crank. If you don't the balancer will push it all the way on when you get the 250+ ft lb of torque on there. Best way to check the alignment is to lay a straight edge flat across the sides of the sprockets and measure the gap between the straight edge and the other sprocket. Those .1 specs are pretty large, can't imagine anything being that far off, .125 is an 1/8".

The balancer will not push the sprocket further on the crank. The oil pump is between the sprocket and the balancer.

Incorrect: The oil pumps slides over the lower sprocket and is driven from the OD of the lower sprocket. The end of the balancer presses against the end of the lower sprocket.
