My dad has a 2003 coupe with the six speed. He is looking to get an after market Navagation system. He was looking at an Avic-N3 but is not sure if he will have enough room when the screen is out with the shifter. Does anyone have that model or another model or any other advice you can give about a navagation system in a C5. Would the C6 navagation system fit in a C5?
I've been using this setup for over 3 years and it has served me well. The GPS is a Magellan RoadMate700, the support bracket setup is made by RAM mounts.
It's a little tight fit with the 6-speed manual car (2003 coupe), but it's a piece of cake with the automatic (1999 coupe)..
Ran across the "RAM MOUNTS" display booth at the Las Vegas SEMA show a couple weekends ago and asked if the NEW Magellans (different size and shape) required a new mounting system and they replied, "No"...
The current adapter with fit the new unit....
Good luck with you GPS decision.....
Mine is an earlier Pioneer AVIC N1 with a DVD player installed below it.
I didn't care for the "pop up" screen because it blocked the center A/C outlet.
Go to a site called "Panavise.com" they sell brackets that will put your GPS anywhere you want it and they are reasonably priced. I installed a Sirius Radio add on system in my 2004 with a Panavise. Good Luck !
