Default Reduced Engine Power/Service Traction Control

Hi, I'm new to Corvette ownership and this is my first post on the Forum.
I have a 97 Doug Rippie C5/RS.
After purchasing the car I started getting the "Reduced Engine Power/Service Traction Control" message every once in awhile.
I have been reading different threads on the forum to try and diagnose the source.
Anyway, now I can't even get out of my own driveway with out it going off. I can turn the car off, and restart and drive another 50 feet and it will go off again.
This is under idol conditions, not heavy exceleration.
The codes are;
P1125HC - APP System
P1281HC - APP 2 Circuit Performance
P1571HC - ASR Desired Torque
C1278HC - TCS Temporarily Inhibited by PCM
Can someone help? And tell me what needs to be fixed/replaced?

Ours (98 6 spd.) was a bad gas pedal.I started by checking all the grounds per the sticky at the top of the page.I also read that the early TAC module was a problem so I ordered a new one and that didnt help. Finally found the problem was the accelerator pedal with the use of a Snap On analyzer. It would set the codes with a very light pedal pressure engine rpm around 1200 and fluctuated. It would also set the codes with the engine off key on and depress the pedal to about 20% position, but if I would depress the pedal quickly past that point to around 50% or more no code.
I would start by checking the wiring connections first.Under dash at the pedal,at the TPS on the throttle body,at the wire harness drivers side rear of fuel rail near metal L shaped bracket and the TAC module harness connector.Important also check for battery leakage.

TTK98 has some sound info for you to follow!! Reduced power can be caused by a number of issues. The TAC module can be one of them but I dont see any DTC's to support that theory. I would start by checking ALL of your grounds (SEE MY STICKY at the top of the C5 TECH section) That is the most inexpensive and provides numerous electrical system improvements. Also try clearing all the codes and see if any of the ones that you have are one time DTC's.

Check with the dealer and see if your TAC module has ever been replaced by GM. If they performed the service, they will have the records. You can also see if the TAC that you have in the car is a 97 part or a later model up-grade.

Clean the grounds, clear the codes and see where you stand.

PLEASE let us know how you make out.

Thanks TTK98 & Bill for the quick response.
Anyway, I had a mechanic go through the electrical ground connections.
This cleared it up for some time but it's back.
I guess I will personally go through them again.
I don't know if this will solve the problem? But I will start there.
I will let you know what happens.

Default Follow up from original post

Had Automotive Electric scan the car.
Accelerator Pedal Position sensor, intermittent open.
They replaced gas pedal w/sensor.
All is good as of now.
Will let you know if it comes back.

Hoorah, glad to here you got it.It is certainly a joy to drive without the fear of that blasted reduced power problem. We live off a heavily trafficed two lane country road just around a curve. There have been many past instances when pulling out of our driveway and not even out of first gear then bells and no power and no shoulder to get out of the way.The good news is it has not happened again since I changed the foot feed and I beleive you have solved your problem also.
Happy Trails!
