I find all long tubes to be a pain in the a$$ when doing any maintainance and will never run them on any car. Shorties work fine on F/I setups !

I hope you see some gains. However, if you also get 345 rwhp with a CAI and some shorties (or ported manifolds) I am going to eat my old running shoes on christmas morning...

I imagine your shoes are safe - this is just an attempt to get a bit more power in a way the smog ***** here in Kalifornia can't harass me about.

Besides, LTs bring fitment issues, heat and all kinds of baggage with them - worth it, if you want them bad enough and have a killer motor that needs to breathe, but by themselves? Not worth the CARB hassle, IMHO.

I'll just keep fiddling around until I can afford a long deck Warhawk...

Oh, I fully understand why you are doing it. I just hope that others reading this thread don't expect to get the numbers that Doug@Moroso posted above.

LS1 tech has a good write up on installing long tubes but it also works for the shortys as well. Spent 400.00 here on the forums they are ceramic coated. I wouldn't buy new though. go used. You will need some bolts from home depot to connect the headers to the factory pipes. If you have any other questions pm me and I can help out. I just did this install about a month ago.
what kind of bolts did you use to connect the headers to the stock pipes
