Hello all, I have a '00 Vert MN6 with some Lingenfelter work done to it. I bought the car used so I don't know exactly what was done but a rep from Lingenfelter tells me that it did go through their shop. I know that it has headers and exhaust, don't know about cats. Anyways, the CEL light has been on since I bought it and I was told that it was just the O2's throwing the code. Lastnight I was talking to a guy who says that it's not the O2's but a spark plug lead, and that with the CEL being on it is putting the car in a kind of SAFE mode therefore not putting out all the power available. Is there any truth to this? It's my first Corvette and I thought that it went pretty good but I have nothing to compare it to. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks guys/girls. Remember the soldiers.
May our Troupes be safe.
What are the codes you are getting? If it is P0161 which is the passenger side rear O2 sensor or the the code number for the driver side O2, the best you can do is have a tuner turn the rear O2 sensors off. A sprak plug lead IMHO won't cause these codes, besides you can easily find a bad sprak plug wire. Good luck
