What is the STOCK GM INSTALLED preload in mm, inches, or "turns" on lifters for the hydraulic roller cam? IE, when you have zero clearance on the lifter, how much do you preload the lifter? Anyone know the factory spec?
My old Ford stuff was 1/2 to 3/4 turn preload. I'm guessing same for Chevy?
I'm not sure about the turns but I believe anywhere between 0.075 and 0.1 is the stock rating. Don't go out and set them up just yet until someone confirms .

thanks, I was looking at the stock LS1 cams and the stock z06 cam.
LS1 CAM BASE CIRCLE: 19.7mm
01 Z : 19.3mm
02 Z : 19.0mm
That means my stock pushrod is 0.7mm (0.0275") too long. Then again, I really don't know what the base circle on the aftermarket cam is... I was just trying to do a basic check on the preload.
Preload should be 0.080 - 0.100", but I have run mine as deep as 0.125" with no problems. With stock rockers, compare the base circle to stock and adjust length accoringly.
