like the thread says,i got leaks at the x pipe section where the smaller clamps go and when i try and make them just a bit tighter the bolt breaks, had to run to napa to get a couple of bolts cause 2 broke,i'm ok with the fit but the leaks are pissing me off and there has to be a solution,so i'm wondering what you guys running this sytem have done to fix the leaks,i don't understand why it doesn't just come welded,i might just have it welded if nothing else works but that means more cash again.
Call LG and asked to speak to Sean, Bobby or even ask to speak to Lou and tell them that you need the big non-bling-bling clamps. The same thing happened to me when I installed my street series. They hooked me up with the big clamps tat you can put some seriouse torque on. Try not to get pissed and they will help you out.
thanks, that is why i asked here,i figured one of you guys knew something,i'm not unhappy with the headers or lg,i just hate exhaust leaks, also i have not seen good clamps at auto parts yet so i might just contact lg and ask them about better clamps and i'll even give them the ones i got back.
I fooled with my SW intermediate pipe slip joint for years before I got the above. That clamp and some high temp RTV and you will be good. It is still removable which may be important.
i think i might do that so i don't have to call lg,and removable is important, did you have to use the rtv?i had to use muffler cement once on a set of slip fit long tubes for a modular mustang and it did the trick but it doesn't look pretty and it gets pretty hard so it might be a pain to remove that,it just sucks that you have to fool around with a 1000$system.
The RTV is silicone so it never gets really hard. It wipes off when fresh and comes off with a wire brush when cured. What I did is put it under the clamp so it does not even show. The clamps will take ~40 lbs of torque so they are very effective.
Cut two slots 180 degrees from each other in the larger of the two pipes (outer pipe) approximately 1 to 1 1/2 inches in length. This will allow the pipe to be sqeezed when you tighten the clamps. A little bit of RTV Copper Plus High Temp silicone will also make sure you get no leaks. I would suggest you get the band clamps as well as they don't crush the pipes which makes it a lot easier to remove them later on if you have to. If you don't want to cut slots in the pipe then just use the RTV and good band clamps. Hope this has helped you.
I used the Torctite clamps, very good quality clamp and it solved my problems immediately. I have since had them apart a few times and they still work great.

I had same problem. Someone found some nice wide clamps at Summit Racing, which is what I used and they don't leak anymore. I initially wanted something like I got with my Corsa's, but these are much better.
btw, when they came in, they did not look like they would work. But they fit very nicely.
