First, I apoligize for putting this in a NON COLUMN LOCK FAQ ... but I've unfortunately already had the Original GM recall, they won't do the new recall and I don't know what to do next, if the Bypass will even work, ?

2000 Automatic C5 . Original Recall performed in 00 or 01 ... ONLY in cold temperatures I get " PULL KEY wait 10 Seconds " .. I pull the key, on the first insertion, get the standard " SERVICE COLUMN LOCK " which cuts the fuel off if I choose to drive, so I pull the key in and out a few times or start and stop it, and usually works with in 30 seconds of doing so ...
I went to the Dealer with my VIN a few monthes back, they said COLUMN LOCK Recall was done originally 5 years ago and that I'm not elgible for any " recall ", or that my vin doesn't bring one up ...

What to do know .. ?
If GM put a bypass in years ago that apparantly doesn't work, what to do ? will a $50 kit from one of your guy's sites work ? What are my options, I just want to take care of this 911 ... Thanks for everything, c5alex ... can't wait for a c6 .. please no electrical problems

 

Is your wheel locking? You don't say. If not try cleaning the chip in you key. Use some alcohol and wipe it off very well. If the wheel is locking put in a CLB from one of the forum vendors.

 

Clean the pellet, if not ask to see the old service record from the computer. See if the plate and re-program were done.
