Recently picked up a GTO spare for my Z06. I want to take the spare with me on a road trip this weekend, but don't have time to bore out the center hole myself. I'd like to drop off at a machine shop to have the work done, but need a precise measurement for them. Anyone know the size I need to bore to?
I took my GTO spare to a local wheel repair shop and explained that I needed roughly 1/16" trimmed from the inside hub area. They had some C5 wheels laying around and used those as a reference...
I believe 1/16" is all you need to trim which is not a lot as already mentioned
As an aside, have you actually layed the GTO wheel inside of your Vette? Man that **** sure takes up a lot of space; I have a rear partition and I would have to remove it in order to accomodate the GTO spare
Took me less than 5 min per wheel with a simple drill attachment, there is not much at all that needs to come off.
you forgot the 90 minutes it takes to go to home depot to get the simple attachment, plus the time it takes for trial and error to get it to fit. trying to simplify...

it certainly takes up more space than the hiking boots I'd need if I got a flat on my trip. I also carry a full repair kit which has saved me more than once.
