Default MSD Wires HELP!!!!!

I bought a set of wires from Jegs today. Replaced the plugs with ACDelco Iridiums 41-985 in about an hour.. I even took the time to use Anti-sease since this is my baby and the idea of a seased plug makes me sick. So long story short I damaged my stock wires removing them and took the plunge with the infamous MSD 8.5 wires. Well three of the boots had to be cut on the plug side so they would contact the plug, and one of the boots on the coil side was up so far that it would not make contact with the coil. I have to go back to Jegs tomorrow to try to get my money back but since I have cut them to try to fix a factory error I might be stuck. Ill let you know what happens later. So my question is do I just get the Auto Lights at the parts store for $30 or try to find another wire. I went for the MSDs b/c they are about 27 ohms a wire vs 350 ohms for the stocks. Let me know guys. I am off to bed to dream of MSD burning to the ground.

an unusual problem. Did Jegs give you the right part number. Mine MSD were a perfect fit.....and I have not heard of other problems.

And MSD has low ohms for certain.

Yea they are the right part number it is just that some of the contacts were not installed low enough in the boot to make contact.

I hope I am not stating something that is painfully obvious here, but with any spark plug wire I have ever seen the boot can slide up and down on the wire so you can adjust how far the connector sits in or out of the boot. Are MSD wires setup so they can't be adjusted?

Tried that but the amount of force needed to move the boot I think will exceed the outer strength of the wire. Or no they are too tight to move.

go buy stock MSD is JUNK at best. The ends suck and you can't feel them snap on to know they are connected.

I picked up a set of Autolites for my z06 for 33 bucks at Advance and they have the same resistance as a new set of stock GM's and the boots look identical.

Ok so Jegs replaced my wires with the black MSD's which were perfect. Only time will tell how long they last though. But for now my faith is restored in MSD.......
