Default dumb question...(headers)

Just got the LG motorsports street series headers and there doesnt seem to be gaskets included. I assume these will fit in place with the stock gaskets? The instructions that came with them say to use only the Camaro LS1 gaskets?

oh and whats the lowest you can lower a vette on the stock/factory bolts?

thank you.

Go to the stealership and buy brand new stock metal ones. I wouldnt reuse the old gaskets. They are not that expensive

Any good auto parts store will have exhaust manifold gaskets to fit an LS1-6. I got mine at NAPA for about $15 bucks, which is alot cheaper than the dealer.

Stock style gaskets work best, but there are two styles of gaskets, round port and oval port. You want to use the round port gaskets with headers since the headers have round ports. Just order gaskets for a 1999 C5 coupe and you will get the correct round port gaskets. Have not tried aftermarket gaskets so I can't comment on them. But the ones you want will be all steel (no fiber or paper), they are made out of three thin layers of steel all stacked up and riveted together. I would not be afraid to reuse factory gaskets if they are round port, but for the price of gaskets you have to ask if it is worth doing the job again if the gaskets leak.
