Default need help removing fuel rails

i know this sounds crazy but i want to try and paint my intake while in the car. im going to paint it with an airbrush and i need to pull the fuel rails to do it. i took off the bolts on the bracket and removed some clips between eack injector and rail, but im a little worried about messing up something by just pulling on it. can someone shed a little light on this for me? thanks

As long as all the fasteners are loose, just grab hold and yank up smartly.

Tip: Clean any dust/dirt from around the base of the injectors so it won't fall into the injector holes. That area collects a lot usually.

Robert

Here's a thread I posted a while back on swapping injectors. Shows how to remove the rails.

If you just remove the fuel rail bolts with injectors still attached to the rails,,, you can just pull up on the fuel rail and the injectors will come out attached to the rails. You dont even need to disconnect the fuel line! Once the injectors (attached to the rails) are out,,,just lay the entire assembly off to the side while you paint.

Removeing the intake is a breese and you can use all the old gaskets to re-install. you will get a much better job. loosen up all bolts and pull a little on the intake. If you paint it dont paint the holes that the injestors go into.
