Has anybody put a C5R 427 into a C5 with an A4? Is it even possible?

Yes it is possible and lots of people have done it. A good number that have, have switched to a different type transmission. The POS 4L60E, even built up, can not hold that much power.

There are some built a4's running around with more horsepower than the 650 that the C5r puts out. Check the search mode here on the forum.

You mean people like Stealth running low 9's with his RPM 4L60 or people like RoadRebel, EarlH, Me, etc running 9's and low 10's on ours? There are tons of people pushing big power through 4L60's. The secret is a good trans cooler and a small convertor.

The secret is a good builder AND tuner. There is more that goes into the longevity of the elctronic shifted autos than just the parts that go in them.
