When i go to turn on my headlights the lights turn on but wont flip up. Here is the kicker.. when i turn the vette off and go to turn the lights on.. eveything is normal and lights turn on and flip up.. any clues to what is goin on?

Try removing your battery terminals, cleaning them (and the battery posts with a wire brush) and reinstalling them. Tighten to 11 ft-lbs. Too tight will cause leaking battery.

Even if they don't look dirty, do this. IT WORKED FOR ME ! Headlights are very sensitive to voltage.

If your lights turn on but won't come up then it's likely that the headlight control module is getting the correct ON voltage to raise the headlights but it's not.

With the car off, there could be a voltage difference as Oldvetter points out. One thing besides the battery to check is the ground for the headlight control module, which is located at G102 on the frame rail behind the passenger headlight. If the ground is starting to corrode it could result in enough of a difference to raise the headlight.
